How they combine

This comparison exists because a lot of people search for a "Cursor alternative" when what they are missing is not a better editor. Worth separating the two frustrations, because they lead to different tools.
If the editor is what is failing you — completion, project context, conversational editing — then you really are looking for a Cursor alternative, and the candidates are other editors: VS Code with Copilot, Zed, Windsurf, or a terminal agent like Claude Code. What is the best Cursor alternative?

Does Lienox replace Cursor?
Not for writing code: Cursor is designed for that and does it better. Lienox complements it by taking on the part that does not fit in an editor. Most people who use both write in Cursor and leave the checks, deploys and recurring work to Lienox.
Does Lienox edit code?
Yes, its agents read and modify files in your projects, and auto-detect how to run them (scripts, framework, port). But it does not compete with an editor on the assisted-editing experience: that is not where its advantage is, and claiming otherwise would help nobody.
What does Lienox do that an editor cannot?

How does pricing compare?
They charge for different things. Cursor is a per-seat subscription that includes model usage. Lienox charges for the platform with a flat capacity price — Free or Ultra at $8 per month — and inference goes straight to your provider with your keys. Can I use both at once?

Does my data leave my machine with Lienox?
Your agents' prompts, files and results never leave your machine. The only thing that leaves is the inference call to the AI provider you choose with your own key, and you control that. Telemetry is an allowlist of anonymous events: never content, paths or results.
